چکیده

Concern about the side effects of liver cancer treatment has driven studies on anticancer to find compounds from plants that can act as chemotherapy. The activity Chromolaena odorata against colorectal cancer, lung leukemia, cervical breast and been proven. However, this plant’s mechanism inhibit cell growth is still undetermined. This study aims investigate C. HepG2 cells. Extraction leaves was done by maceration method using 80% ethanol further fractionated. Total flavonoid major compound crude extract were determined aluminum chloride colorimetric assay Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry method. IC 50 proliferation analysis performed MTT assay. Cell cycle analyzed flowcytometry. 1.95% such 5,7,8,3ʹ,4ʹ-Pentamethoxyflavonone, 1-Carboethoxy-β-carboline, 3-Methylcanthin-2, 6- dion, Canthin-6-one found in . significantly lower after 72 hours incubation with ½ fractions. cells treated fractions accumulated G0-G1 phase. These results indicated could induce arrest.

Hemostatic and Wound Healing Properties of Chromolaena odorata Leaf Extract

Chromolaena odorata (L.) King and Robinson (Siam weed) extract has been used to stop bleeding and in wound healing in many tropical countries. However, its detailed mechanisms have not been elucidated. In this study, we examined the molecular mechanisms by which Siam weed extract (SWE) affected hemostatic and wound healing activities. SWE promoted Balb/c 3T3 fibroblast cell migration and prolif...

The growth suppressing effects of girinimbine on HepG2 involve induction of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.

Murraya koenigii is an edible herb widely used in folk medicine. Here we report that girinimbine, a carbazole alkaloid isolated from this plant, inhibited the growth and induced apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma, HepG2 cells. The MTT and LDH assay results showed that girinimbine decreased cell viability and increased cytotoxicity in a dose-and time-dependent manner selectively. Girini...

Effects of berberine on proliferation, cell cycle distribution and apoptosis of human breast cancer T47D and MCF7 cell lines

Objective(s):Berberine, a naturally occurring isoquinoline alkaloid, has shown antitumor properties in some in vitro systems. But the effect of berberine on breast cancer has not yet been completely studied. In this study, we evaluated anticancer properties of berberine in comparison to doxorubicin. Materials and Methods: The antiproliferative effects of berberine and doxorubicin alone and in ...

Effects of valproic acid and pioglitazone on cell cycle progression and proliferation of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia Jurkat cells

Objective(s): T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive hematologic malignant tumor. Administration of chemical compounds influencing apoptosis and T cell development has been discussed as promising novel therapeutic strategies. Valproic acid (VPA) as a recently emerged anti-neoplastic histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor and pioglitazone (PGZ) as a high-affinity peroxisome p...
